The Topaz Miata Build!
Oh, the Miata! This car is how I love to spend my time. This is my first car, and when I bought it, it looked awful and had a few issues. So far, I’ve had to do some repairs. I’ve also added a few modifications. I love working on the car and building my skills and knowledge in the automotive and racing industry.
Welding-
Working on this car has sparked my passion for learning to weld. I’m currently enrolled in welding classes at a nearby college where I have become skilled in SMAW, MIG, and TIG welding processes. I have also received a few certifications for welding.
Plans-
This build is nowhere near done. I’m working toward a fully built turbo build with forged internals, upgraded parts, and a full turbo kit from CX-Racing to see more of the remaining parts on my build list check out the "Miata parts list" button below.
Canyon running-
I run @805miatas on Instagram, and I’ve hosted some big canyon cruises with guests such as Moss Miata coming out to support the local Miata scene. Cruises range as small as 15 people to just under 60. We cruise up a local canyon road and stop along the way for photos and breaks for the cars. My passion for canyon driving extends further than that. I also run canyons with local car enthusiasts and canyon running groups.
Track days-
Running canyons has also sparked my interest in taking my car to the track. I've been to 2 events thus far at Willow Springs. My first event was on The Horse Thief Mile track, and after that day I was hooked. My second event was at Streets of Willow and I have returned to that track numerous times since. I have so much room to improve and grow, but I love the track environment for this reason and am putting in the work to grow my skills.
